Hello again,
As promised, this is a quick note to inform our New York City customers that the Yun Hai Shop x Win Son Bakery Pineapple Cake pre-order link is live!
We collaborated with the one and only Win Son Bakery to produce a limited run of Taiwanese Pineapple Cakes to celebrate the Lunar New Year, riffing on a recipe we developed with Cat Yeh for our dried fruit kickstarter in 2021. Thanks for your amazing response last year; we’re excited to continue the tradition.
Pickups will be at the Yun Hai Shop location between Wednesday, 1/18 and Sunday, 1/22. Unfortunately, we’re not able to ship and cannot guarantee availability for walk-in orders (though we will try to have some extras). For more information, check out the ordering details page below.

Pineapple cakes are a traditional Taiwanese pastry made with a short crust and a pineapple jam filling. They are a favorite treat throughout the year, but especially during Lunar New Year in Taiwan, because the Taiwanese word for pineapple (王梨 ông-lâi) sounds like "prosperity arrives."
This year, the cakes will come in packs of 4 and are $16 per box. The pineapple cakes will be available for local pick-up only from our store in Brooklyn, New York.
Details:
- A box of four cakes
- $16 per box, limit 2 boxes per person
- Contains wheat, dairy
- Consume within 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 weeks. Thaw on the counter until room temperature.
- All customers who preorder will receive an email confirming their order and reiterating the pickup details.
- Someone else can pick up on your behalf, they just need to show us the email confirmation.
Pickup location: Yun Hai Shop, 170 Montrose Ave, Brooklyn NY
Pickup dates: 1/18 Wednesday - 1/22 Sunday, see hours in the ordering link
